I have just seen that advert for McDonalds on the TV again and it makes me want to act like the Who. The advert in question is the loosely "footy"-based one. You know where the guy in it is shouting humourous football chants at the top of his voice in out of context places thereby embarrassing his girlfriend.
First of all I would like to protest at this cliched depiction of "footy" fans, we are not all jibbering idiots with no sense of occasion. I never really feel the need to walk down the street shouting things but maybe that's just me.
Secondly, why don't we round up all of the Admen and PR people and send them to exile in the middle of the Indian Ocean. What use do they serve? All of their collective intelligence could be better used to foil global warming or ending poverty but no, they try to sell us hamburgers and shampoo instead. Adverts are like a bloke that likes to think he's a comedian in the pub, i.e. when someone has laughed at his joke once goes around the pub night telling everyone. It may have been funny once but after the 20th time it becomes murder-inducing.
Thirdly, McDonalds Fuck Off from football.
In other news Bangor might actually be playing tommorrow
