A celebrity at Farrar Road!!!

Bangor City 0, Newtown 1

This match was the last home game so there should have been a large crowd for this. Any hopes that I had about a large crowd attending were lost when I turned up to find enough space to play my own game on the terraces.

The game started well as Bangor exerted quite a bit of pressure, Lamby looking particularly effective. Some refereeing decisions angered the locals but on the whole things looked good for the second half.
Upon going to the Farrar end at half time, (maybe that was the reason why we didn't score, attacking the wrong end in the first half.). I chanced upon Mark Steel, the Comedian, talking to Brian, a fellow City Revolutionary. I asked him for his autograph and we proceeded to chat for all the second half. It seems funny meeting someone famous when watching football; You tend to not be bothered by the result and are more engrossed in the conversation. Mark is a big Palace fan and a generally all-round nice guy. So far that's 4 famous people I've seen at Bangor, Cian from SFA, Llyr Evans (Rhys Ifans' brother) and an actor from C'mon Midfildd. This is why we are a Jet Set.
The match ended 1-0 to Newtown, and Bangor didn't really look like scoring for most of the second half. Will we now qualify for the Premier Cup? Liverpool later beat Chelsea to make up for this. I also decided to pop along to see Mark at Theatr Gwynedd, it was entertaining and also educational, just like my teaching.
