Bangor City 1 Porthmadog 0
I arrived at this to find what was surely the entire population of Porthmadog entering Farrar Road.
A group of what can only be described as "scallies" all followed one another to the St. Paul's end. Once there they started to sing about their feeling about Bangor, irratatingly keeping up for the whole match.
In the match ex-Bangor legend Les Davies scored in the first half with a fairly good shot. This was definitely against the run of play as Bangor were putting together some nice moves, obviously keeping the confidence since Saturday. The usual feeling of "we'll turn it around 2nd half" came upon me. We did look like we would as Robbo scored early in the second half. During the rest of the 2nd half, several chances were not taken by both teams and Bangor should have had a penalty too.
The most frustrating thing after a generally good performance was the manner in which Porth scored the winner; at one end a Bangor shot was deflected on to the bar by a defender that didn't seem to know he'd hit the ball. Porth then went up the other end immeadiately and Davies scored his second with a screamer.
Ah, the distance between triumph and tragedy is not a large one.
