Earlier this month Gibraltar's bid to become the latest member of UEFA was defeated. When I first heard about this it intrigued me. Upon further reflection I started to see the potential in this idea for Llandudno. Why don't we apply for membership of UEFA?
We have the facilities, our potential national stadium has hosted Cardiff City, an Everton Legends team and Wormhout u15s. We also have some of the best hostelries on offer between Bangor and Rhyl. It can be done, we just need the will. After all we're not that different from Gibraltar; They have the rock, we have the Orme; They have the dockyards, we have the pier; They have their monkey, we have our scallies.
With our similarities now beyond doubt, the political wing of the Llandudno Jet Set, THE LLANDUDNO POPULAR FRONT (LPF) would now like to declare independence from the Royal Kingdom of Great Britain. As a start to this process we have planted our flag at the top of the Great Orme as a gesture of our determination to create a better Llandudno.
