Llandudno U15s 6, Wormhout U15s 0.
This match took place because of the twinning of the two towns. The twinning occurred because during World War 2 100s of Soldiers were massacred in a barn in Wormhout by the SS, most of the victims coming from Llandudno.
This was free to get in, no body took advantage of this because apart from me and the two mayors the only people in attendance were the coaches and two others. The match was 5-0 at half time as the much bigger Llandudno team overpowered the French visitors, the Wormhout goalkeeper kept the score down in the second half with some really good saves. A bad taste was left for me when Llandudno's goalie was replaced by an outfield player. He then tried to dribble around the entire team, and neraly succeeded in scoring. What better way to make guests welcome ,eh?
