Something approaching interesting happened in the glamorous world of the UEFA Champions League, brought to you by Heineken. I watched Champions League Weekly last night and it reminded me that unscripted moments like proper punch-ups still happen in the sanitised world of soccer-tainment.
There was none of this pushing each other and grabbing collars whilst bellowing at each other and the ref rubbish like in the Premiership. At the end of Valencia-Inter there were punches thrown, kicks aimed and attempted assaults. Although there was a rather shameful punch and run by one of the Valencia subs
I mean, Ahem, what a shocking indictment of our modern game, both team should be strung up, bring back the birch I say, won't somebody think of the children!!!
Enough of that, it's refreshing to see such good old-fashioned bad sportsmanship in this bland world of football, you don't even need to scratch too far under the surface to get to it either.
At last!!
