Llanrwst or bust!!!

Llanrwst United Reserves 1 Gaerwen 3

A football addict's dilemma: where do you go if your team is playing on the other side of the country? Fellow addict Dewi had gone to Llangefni but I'm obviously in need of professional help as I chose Llanrwst United. It gets worse than that; their reserve team. I had been meaning to come here for absolutely ages, years in fact and what better occasion than this? Llanrwst United Reserves Vs Gaerwen.
Got the train, had a look around picturesque Llanrwst, then off the the ground. It was hard to miss, although it's just a bit of field that has been fenced off. One stand exists (the sight of which enchanted me all those years ago) and Llanrwst United reserves seem to have the most amateurish kit in football.
The match was strange some of the players made John Hartson look svelte and Gaerwen were 2-0 up at the break.

Just before half time I nearly castrated myself performing a charitable act. The ball went over into a field and I volunteered to retreive it. I caught my Jeans on the barbed wire and much hilarity ensued 9at least for the spectators who weren't me). Honestly, you try to help and you get nothing but grief.
The second half took a turn for the bizarre as the geriatric ref disallowed a goal for Llanrwst; a penalty was then awarded which the goalie saved; the ball went back to the same player and he scored but the ref disallowed it and gave a free kick to Gaerwen. He had obviously forgotten the 2005 European Cup Final.
Gaerwen's third goal was a comedy masterpiece; both the defender and the goalkeeper left it to each other so the striker nipped in to score. Another member of the Fat Pack, the manager's son no doubt, was brought on to terrorise the defences. My stint as ballboy in the second half meant an acknowledgement from the Llanrwst goalie in the pub afterwards as I waited to see Bangor's result.

Incidentally never believe Sky, I laboured under the misapprehension that we had won 1-0, it turns out we had drawn 1-1.
