The Season starts Today

Bangor City 6 Newi Cefn Druids 0

The fact that it was still August took some believing as the weather reminded you of November. This was the proverbial game of two halves.(This is a very silly expression in analysis as all matches have two halves: Note to TV pundits and summarisers - STOP USING THIS PHRASE!!!!!!!.) After the first half the Blues' faithful must have feared the worst about the upcoming season as the game was scoreless. On the positive side Bangor did look threatening a few times.

Because we remained in the boardroom we missed the first goal, about a minute into the second half. The rain was still falling so we thought that the stand instead of the St.Paul's end would be a better option. The rain seemed to ease off after the second goal and we took our places amongst the other Bangor Ultras. Our presence obviously helped as Bangor scored 4 more goals. Will this match be a false dawn? Will it be the benchmark of a new season? Who knows, it's all the fun of the early part of the football season. As we left the Bangor players were getting in to wheelie bins full of Iced water, nice.
