Bangor City 1 Caersws 2
Welsh Premier League
Any sane fan would have thought that Bangor would win against Caersws twice in 5 days, given Tuesday's game. In football things rarely turn out as planned and we lost a game that we shouldn't have. If you were to look at this game through a neutral's eyes than you would also concluded that Bangor should have won. Such was Bangor's domination (in my view) that Caersws were lucky to have got out of Farrar Road with 3 points.
The day started off as innocently as possible, Liverpool were winning as I left the pub, I purchased the very nice new shirt, I settled down to watch another home win, I marvelling at Caersws's Yellow and white ensamble. Then about halfway through the first half; DISASTER!!! Caersws score and a few minutes later they scored again. I can't really understand what happened and I think that this feeling was shared by the players as we looked incapable of getting anything before half-time.
All this was to change in the Second Half though as Bangor scored about 10 minutes in. I don't remember Caersws having too many shots and they seemed intent on just hoofing the ball up the field. Bangor kept up the pressure, including a definite penalty unawarded, and it finally told in the last minute as Bangor gained a penalty at the second time of asking. As the president and I shielded our view the chance was spurned as Robbo missed. All in all a fairly good performance but with a bad outcome, imagine the film Saving Private Ryan and you're on the right lines, without the severed limbs and tanks though.
Same Again?
