Bangor City 4 Llanelli 0
(Welsh Premier League)
Just when you think you've figured out football this happens, who'd watch football if it was scripted anyway. (Is anybody else bored by seeing the same teams in the Champions League by the way) Dewi was proved right; Steve Bleasdale was our new manager and it looks as though he's had an immeadiate effect.
I spent most of the week leading up to this game in a state of mild panic as I was the guest editor of the programme. Every time that I thought that it was finished I either noticed some typos or that I had forgotten something. If you are editing a programme try to choose a week in which something less than momentous than a change of manager is happening; I had to keep changing names, add welcome notes, drop names etc etc. I then had to take the programme to the printers late on Wednesday night to avoid it arriving late on Thursday morning but unfortunately I couldn't find the shop. Before excommunication from Ffordd Farrar the printing shop came into view after a frantic 30 minutes2088. There was only one small problem however; I had put the pages in the wrong order. I'll never complain about the programme again.
Joel also came to the game, would his presence mean Bangor losing heavily again? This was a distinct possibility of that even without Joel's attendence as Llanelli are one of only 2 professional clubs in the league. The talk on the internet centred around our new manager and his likely effect. The majority were in the positive camp but one or to doom merchats were already on his back. Some foreboding mutterings of hammerings were made but there was also a few mentions of our Welsh Cup Victory in April. The world wide web had been proven to be a braod church yet again.
To judge from the warm-up it looks as though Bleo (as he must be called now) seemed to prepare professionally. To judge from his team the mutterings about wholesale change have yet to take place; there was only one new signing and he was on the bench. Robbo was also on the bench to hint at possible changes. To judge from the first half an hour (sorry for the judgmental tone of all of this) Bleo seems to have provided a bit of confidence; there were several incisive attacks from the wings, Sion looked particularly good. There were some dodgy offsides, welcome to the Welsh Premier Bleo!!!
Bangor started to look more like the team that we had hoped for after the first game but they could not yet find the right touch in front of goal. Llanelli's sporadic attacking still raised a few anxiety levels but Rhys Griffiths didn't really look like scoring neither did the semi-final elbowist Belle for that matter. A goal did arrive just before half-time. It was scored by our latest captain, Lee Webber and crowned our superiority.
The second half started and I thought our bubble may have burst as Llanelli looked more composed. That was true until Jiws took advantage of some poor defending and scored our second. The new Bangor was truly here. We followed up with a fantastic second half which included two more goals, (Jiws again and Walshy more free-flowing Bangor football and added cynicism from Llanelli. I couldn't believe it, we made Llanelli look shit and played so well that everybody was stunned. Leaving the ground everybody was smiling. This season I'd forgotten that this is how watching football can make you feel.
My God, I don't believe this
