Llanfaifechan 1 Bontnewydd 3
(Caernarfon League)
I've played on this ground before for Llandudno Under 12s and scored an own goal. This gem from football history seemed to pass everyone by as I walked around the ground unmolested by any autograph hunters.
As usual with local ground in this area it is very picturesque. I can definitely think of worse places to watch football than North Wales, on top of that it's free too, what a bargain.
The match was generally quite good with less hoofing than usual, The Bontnewydd team had a few good players, one known by the moniker "Chops" was particularly skillful. Llanfair weren't good enough today and the crowd shared this general impression; several walked off to watch Man Utd in the nearest pub.
You can really hear the players shouting at this level. I wonder if the shouts are the same in the Premiership or do they have more complex ones, at some clubs they're probably not even in English. In regards to langauge usage you would have had a wonderful illusration of colloquial Welsh at this game, I heard shouts of; "Dim Free Header" and " Dim Offside". I hadn't heard such a combination of English and Welsh since I was in school listening to the teachers.
I've played on here!!!
