Welsh Premier League
This is surely one of the most depressing mornings of the year, well it is for me anyway. Not only am I hungover but the end of my holiday is in sight. Having said that I still had enough enthusiasm to meet Joel on the Train to Bangor. We should see a double today as Caernarfon didn't look much good on Boxing Day.
After we arrived in an eerily quiet Bangor food was hard to come by; Morrisons was shut. A chicken tikka pasty would have to suffice. Unfortunately its molten contents didn't go down a treat, more like lava burning everything in its path.
As kick-off approached the crowd seemed a little larger than normal, although not as big as the one on Boxing Day. The match took a bit to get going as the teams traded passes around the midfield. Jiws nearly scored with a nice curling shot. Aside from a few goalmouth incidents this was as close as it came to troubling the journalists.
With the boardroom shut we all had a cold wait for the second half at the St.Paul's end. This half saw Bangor do most of the attacking. They forced a few corners and their goalie Pritchard made a few good saves. Whilst Pritchard did perform well Bangor should have scored at least one. Walshy missed from a yard out when it looked simpler to score.
In short this was a frustrating game. This feeling was exacerbated by the nature of Pritchard's celebration at full-time. Cup Wins have been celebrated with less fuss. Any one else might have thought it inadvisable to celebrate a point like you had won the league whilst you're still bottom.
While the team might have lost I won. I won a signed Wales Shirt in the Super Draw. On top of that Joel won two prizes. So my ticket selling was quite productive.
